Get to Know Me
Hi there! I’m Lena Wang.
For the longest time, I was unaware that seasons existed. My childhood consisted of finding creative ways to ward off the hellish heat and humidity while I played outside. My most creative solution was burrowing with cottontails in the orange groves and building a play fort. The cottontails were nice companions but sadly they were snapped up by a coyote. However, don’t ever consider going barefoot on concrete unless you wish to sacrifice the soles of your feet (and your soul) to the devil’s frying pan; I made that mistake once and narrowly escaped. You see, Florida shares a border with hell which explains the weather, love bugs, and invasive Burmese pythons that eat 3 deer a week. Oh, and not mention the traffic on I-4 which occurs every hour of the day, and the drivers from hell who pretend that blinkers don’t come standard in every car. So if you’re traveling down I-4 be prepared to camp for a few days.
All jokes aside, I like my home state especially the beaches and theme parks, but most of all there’s no state income tax. I enjoy photography, learning history, and immersing myself in cultural events.
In 2014, I started my first semester at Valencia College. I didn’t want to go into debt my first few years so I opted for a community college, and I’m grateful to have met many wonderful new friends and opportunities. Out of all the classes I’ve taken in my life so far, economics made a profound influence in my life. I know that sounds cheesy but it’s my honest-to-God truth. I was enlightened by the truths and wonders of the classical economists such as Adam Smith and Frederic Bastiat, and discovered that the foundations of economics isn’t as esoteric and convoluted as I had previously thought.
Recently, I decided to take a break from college. After much deliberation I concluded that college wasn't the right fit for me. I was looking for practical career skills but traditional universities and colleges didn’t fulfill my expectations. It dawned on me that college was out-of-touch with the real world; college cannot keep up with the fast-changing world, especially in tech and business.
Success and freedom is the willingness to take on personal responsibility. If you’re curious about how to take back the reins in your life, you will appreciate what I write and perhaps take action to be free.
My goal is to enlighten you in forging your own path.
